Privacy

Your stories and recordings are yours.

This policy explains what Social Stories collects, why it is used, and how to request access or deletion of your account data.

At a glance

Social Stories uses account, group, and story data only to provide collaborative storytelling features.

Last updated: July 27, 2026

Information we collect

We collect account details such as your name and email address. We also store group membership, story drafts, voice notes, transcription results, invite history, and related audit data.

Authentication and security

We process login credentials, password-reset and email-confirmation tokens, and optional authenticator-app MFA data to secure your account. MFA secrets are encrypted before storage. You may choose Google, Microsoft, or Apple sign-in where those options are available.

Notifications and device data

If you allow notifications, the Android app obtains a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token. We use that token only to send account and financial activity notifications to your device. You can disable notifications in your device settings.

How we use information

We use your information to authenticate you, display and synchronize your story drafts, support shared groups, transcribe voice notes when you ask us to, send requested notifications, and protect the service from misuse. We do not sell your personal information.

Service providers

The service uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver push notifications. When you choose a social sign-in option, the selected provider processes your authentication under its own privacy terms. Email delivery may be processed through the configured email provider.

Storage, security, and retention

Information is sent to the service over HTTPS. The mobile app can keep encrypted queued story changes on your device until it can synchronize them. In the composer, you can opt in to keep the original audio attached to a draft; otherwise raw audio uploaded for transcription is deleted after a successful transcript. We retain account data while your account remains active, unless a longer period is required to resolve a legal, security, or safety issue.

Your choices and data deletion

You can update your profile, group membership, notification permissions, and MFA settings in the app. You can permanently delete your account from the Profile page; see our account deletion instructions. You can also download a JSON export of your account data from the Profile page. For extra help with deletion or portability, email dev.fit.411@gmail.com from the email address registered to your Social Stories account.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the service changes. Material updates will be published on this page. For privacy questions, contact dev.fit.411@gmail.com.
